A new report states that the computer and video game industry pumped $14.1 million into the Louisiana economy, adding 260 direct and indirect jobs. The report from the Entertainment Software Association says that the video game industry in Louisiana grew by 16% from 2008 to 2009. The average direct video game employee in Louisiana earned $83,335 in 2009, below the national industry average of $89,781. Despite the growth, Louisiana still remains a small player in the video game industry. California has more than 13,000 people employed in the industry, accounting for 41% of the U.S. workforce.
