The Louisiana Internet Software & Technology Association (LISTA) was created in 2008 with one important goal in mind: help transform Louisiana into the Digital Interactive Media capitol. In order to accomplish that, LISTA seeks to promote a more friendly business environment in Louisiana and encourages digital software companies to do business in Louisiana. LISTA is a trade association primarily made up of companies engaged in the development of software, web plaforms, web applications and mobile applications as well as video games. They are dedicated to creating a more business friendly environment for companies engaged in the design and development of digital interactive media projects.

LISTA's point of contact for LDGI is Erich Rapp.  Erich Rapp is a partner in the Baton Rouge office of the Kean Miller Law Firm.  He joined the firm in 1987 and practices in the areas of state and local taxation, public policy and government affairs, state and local business incentives and commercial litigation with an emphasis on internet, software and technology issues, asbestos litigation and toxic tort litigation.

Future Genius Solutions (FGS) is now a member of LDGI on a Silver Level. We are excited to have FGS partnering with LDGI. FGS is a new start-up in Baton Rouge by classmates in the Louisiana Business for Technology Center (LBTC). We, LDGI, are looking to fostering and supporting their technology company. We are excited to post their recent efforts to compete in a global entrepreneurship competition.

Future Genius Solutions, an LDGI member, was recently selected to compete at the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards competition in New York City. Picked out of 1700 nationwide applicants, the company was selected as one of the top 6 college companies based on their unique business model, rapid growth, and economic impact potential. They chose to represent Louisiana State University. The firm has only been around for less than a year and there isn’t a team member older then 21 years of age.

To recap, Future Genius Solutions is a presentation design firm that focuses on the art of the presentation. Consisting of Kenny Nguyen, Scott Gianelloni, Sam Claitor, and Gus Murillo, the team finds their passion in turning normal presentations into experiences for their client’s targeted audiences. While providing presentation consulting services and AV equipment rentals for on-the-go presenters, their market niche is customized presentation design. Working with different presentation tools such as PowerPoint, Keynote, Prezi, Animoto, and Adobe Flash, Future Genius Solutions provides a wide range of ways for companies to present themselves.

Currently, the company is strategically growing its presence based on market opportunity and demand. In June 2011, the company will add a referral rewards program with rewards either going to the referrer or a charity of their choice. Other future plans include adding a partnership program and further services related to presentations. By partnering with marketing/design companies, Future Genius Solutions can provide their presentation services with other companies’ marketing packages. Further presentation services include video production, a service to further enhance their repertoire of presentations. Aside from these growth plans, the company still isn’t finished.

Despite not winning at the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards, the company was the first to hail from Louisiana State University and has big plans to return. CEO/Partner of Future Genius Solutions and finance sophomore Kenny Nguyen says,” Despite our loss, we feel like we won by the connections and feedback we received from the judges. Competing with businesses that are much older than a year showed us how much a year can change a business. We look forward to returning next year with an evolved approach and even more fire.”
